Southern Cogen Systems Pvt. Ltd., founded in 2001 in Chennai, India in the principle business of manufacturing and seling waste water products for India. Gradually, Scogen® has become one of the main suppliers of diffusers in India and in 2008 started research with the action of Ultrasound in waste water. With many such applications and installation of Ultrasound worldwide, Scogen aims to tap the market with it's unique Ultrasound technology to increase biogas from an existing bio-digester.
Biogas digesters in the OECD countries are based on sewage and biomass, and mostly in large scale. In India, biogas digesters are installed at a household level or biogas is fed to a small village for cooking purposes. These digesters work on low efficiency. In India , most of the large biogas digester plants work in distilleries. Distilleries in India are either molasses-based or grain-based and the effluent is taken into biogas digesters. The anaerobic process produces biogas and the slurry is treated in the ETP. The efficiency of such large anaerobic digesters can be improved by up to 50%.
The Scogen Ultrasound Reactor with technology from Southern Cogen Systems Pvt. Ltd. India is the solution. This reactor works on a technology called ultrasound cavitation to increase the quantity of biogas generated for a given amount of feed to the biogas digester.
Compact construction | Easy attachments (with standard pipe or tube fittings) | Traditional pump-system interface | Safety in use | Modular characteristics | Working capacity of up to 48 m3/day
Decreasing the digestion time (by up to 60%) | Reducing the digested sludge mass (by up to 30%) | Producing more biogas (up to 50% more)
